Matt Brown

Certified interventionist and founder of FamilyBridge

Matt Brown is a certified interventionist who has spent more than 20 years helping families whose loved one is struggling with alcohol or drugs. He works with parents, spouses, siblings and grandparents before, during and after treatment, and with the interventionists, treatment centers and therapists who serve them.

Matt is also a person in long-term recovery, so he knows this road from both sides. He founded FamilyBridge to help families do what he has seen work best: stop pulling in different directions, agree on one plan, and face addiction together.

Matt is part of Freedom Interventions.

How these guides are written

Every guide is written for families, in plain words, from what Matt has seen work with real families over two decades. They describe general practices that are widely accepted in the field, like CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), and they don’t make up statistics, studies or stories. They’re general information, not medical, legal or mental health advice, and each one includes where to get emergency help.
